TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOURSELF.
I'm Carl, a freelance website designer and I've been serving small businesses for over 20 years, though this article is about my side project, Dog Friendly Norfolk. Dogfriendlynorfolk.com is a FREE website that aims to be a useful tool for listing and highlighting dog friendly venues in Norwich and Norfolk.

WHAT MADE YOU SET UP YOUR OWN BUSINESS?
18 months ago, returning from a dog walk, I was locked out of my home for a couple of hours. I found it really hard to find details on where I could take refuge with my dog, so this was the inspiration for creating a better resource locally for dog owners in the region. While the website is available online, the project is also on Instagram, Facebook and Threads.

WHO IS PART OF YOUR TEAM?
Just me... oh and the dogs. I do all the hard work - like creating, maintaining and populating the website along with updating the socials. The dogs get to explore some lovely places and often get treated with snacks and cuddles, so they get the fun side to it!

WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS FOR THE FUTURE?
There are plans to create additional categories on the website, so it can list dog related services (sitters, walkers, trainers, groomers etc..), as I can see a massive demand for these services. This is in part delayed though, as I'm still keen to populate the core categories on the website. Once I have a great selection and depth of venues on the website, I'll look to launch the new category, working closely with local companies.

I'm keen for dog friendly venues to come forward, so I can get them added to the website. It's FREE and the more venues we have listed, the better the website works. In return I hope that we can connect thousands of dog owners to the venues all year round.

WHAT'S THE BEST THING ABOUT THE AREA YOU LIVE IN?
I've lived in Norwich all my life. I've travelled enough around the UK and the world to appreciate home. We're very lucky to live in such a warm and vibrant city which is just the right size to accommodate most people's needs. We also have the countryside and beaches on our doorstep and that's another reason why it's a great place to own a dog too.
